Book Description: Red cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Boards are generally in very good order. Slight bumping to corners. Spine is intact and bright with just a little bumping to ends. Textblock is in good condition, clean and tight. 176 pp. Cream glazed paper dust jacket with gold and black lettering to front and spine. DJ has some loss to top edge and another small one to bottom rear corner. Uneven fade. Not priceclipped. When securely packed this item will weigh in the region of 466g. (YBP Ref: 1269/19 3-G9)

Book Description: Scarce. Volume 1: Green cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Extensive staining to boards, signs of damp. Corners bumped and worn. Wear to board edges and especially along the spine edges where the cloth is splitting. Spine is age darkened with bumping to top and bottom. Page edges are rather grubby. The page edges have been hand cut and hence are rather ragged. t.e.g. Just a hint of foxing to the endpages. Front inner hinge is starting to crack. Rear inner hinge is cracked but holding. Textblock is starting to crack. B/w photographic frontispiece showing Tolstoy, with tissue paper protection intact. Textblock has one or two grubby marks but is generally clean. 493 pp. Volume 2: Green cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Some staining, signs of damp. Corners bumped and worn. Wear to board edges and especially along the spine edges where the cloth is splitting. Spine is rather tatty and coming loose. Page edges are rather grubby. The page edges have been hand cut and hence are rather ragged. t.e.g. Just a hint of foxing to the endpages. Front inner hinge is starting to crack. Rear inner hinge is cracked but holding. Textblock is starting to crack. B/w frontispiece with tissue protection intact. Textblock has one or two grubby marks but is generally clean. 426 pp + Adverts. Chipping to edges of dust jacket. Top of spine missing, and smaller section at bottom of spine also missing. Back cover grubby. When securely packed this item will weigh in the region of 1023g. Registered at the General Post Office as a Newspaper for Transmission Abroad." Blue half faux leather boards with gilt lettering to spine. Quite shelfworn, especially the marbled part. Corners are bumped, edges are worn. Spine is age darkened with bumping to ends; top is pulled. Page edges have been coloured to complement the boards. Age discolouration to endpages. Text block is tanned, but clean save for one of two pencil annotations. When securely packed this item will weigh in the region of 1335g. (YBP Ref: 1269/19 15)
