Scarce original first edition from 1838, not a modern reprint. Brown cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Boards are marked and generally grubby. Corners are bumped, edges are worn. Spine is age darkened with bumping and some loss to ends. Closed tear to frontis, not affecting image. Textblock is age darkened with some fox, inc to plate. 6 plates, all present as called for.
